The Four Hour Body - Tryout 1
The four hour body, working on your body 4 hours a week to ultimately look like Brad Pitt in fightclub, that was the plan. And especially with the slow carb diet explained in Tim Ferris' book!
5 basic principles (source link where you can find more information):
- Rule 1: Don't eat white stuff unless you want to gain weight Avoid white carbohydrates such as bread, rice (including brown), grain products, potatoes, pasta, tortillas and breaded foods.
- Rule 2: The simpler, the better. An American supermarket contains an average of 47,000 products. Only some of them won't make you fat.
- Rule 3: Don't drink calories Drink plenty of water and unsweetened coffee or tea, no fruit juices or soft drinks. Wine is allowed, but not more than 1 glass per day (2 for men). "Whahahahaha, mighty, men can drink more!"
- Rule 4: Don't eat fruit The fructose in fruit is converted into glycerophosphate. This is converted into triglycerides and stored as fat.
- Rule 5: Let yourself go once a week. #BingeDayyyyyy
And so it was that I lost 6 kilos in 5 weeks! Woot Woot! See the proof here (the round points are the measurements, the line an interpolation of withings):
Two things that struck me:
- The binge days are clearly visible! ;-)
- After 5 weeks nothing really came off. I didn't exercise, so it can't be that I gained weight due to muscle mass. After 5 weeks, however, it often did not stop at 2 glasses of red wine per evening. Maybe that was the reason. I did buy a kettlebell which I put a lot of work into... Could be the reason. The four hour body also recommends NOT exercising.
And here came Kos... It's not a gift, receiving a trip for your 40th birthday from the most beautiful woman in the world while you're on the slow carb diet ;-). Binge day became binge week. And don't nonsense, eat, drink, lie in the sun, do nothing, read, try to make a third, massage, sauna, do nothing, do nothing, and eat well, and drink again, beer, rosé, wine, ouzo. My wife is the best! But, but, but, the consequences were obvious. See here the photo of my weight measurements after Kos...
Hupsa, everything back, 6 kilos in one week, fries, thank you my most beautiful wife in the whole world... I expected something, but now not. Or maybe actually. The mountain of Kos. I was so affected that I haven't really paid attention to my weight for three weeks now. But Kos was wonderful and necessary and the max and romantic...
But from tomorrow we will start again, now with the help of an Excel sheet. The intention is to get to 78 kilos in 180 days. I always have to stay within a certain margin. The excel sheet turns it into a nice chart! Back using the slow carb diet and binge day! Binge day is ooooohhhhh so important. Without a binge day I would never be able to stick with it. And we started walking back. Within a few weeks I hope to be running 30 km a week and then maybe I will be able to break through the stagnation after those first 6 weeks. You can also take ice baths and the like, but we'll ignore that for now ;-)
There are no measurements yet, but the intention is to stay within the blue line and not exceed the margins. Not even underneath ;-). I will post an update of the excel sheet in a few weeks.
Cheers, Carlos.
ps: Honey, thanks for Kos, it was wonderful. XXX
