Spirits of the East
Mitakuye Oyasin, I am Lieven. Spirits of the East, Wioheumpata, thank you for allowing me to stand here and speak. The East is where the sun rises and the power of our inner fire. It's the start of a new day. It is also the beginning of understanding because light helps us see things as they really are. I know the East as the path of service and patience. I know the East as the beginning of new life and hope and as the path of promise and allies. I know the East as the path of spirituality and enlightenment. I know the East as the path of birth and children. I know the East like spring.
I am grateful for the new opportunities we get and the power within us to always start over. I am grateful for the fire within us and the fire that I bring to my music and share with the world. I am grateful for the many dreams we still have and the courage to bring them into the world. I am grateful for the light that helps us see things as they really are.
I pray for support and honor the eagle on this path. I pray that we may have eyes as sharp as the eagle's sight so that we may see truth and hope in the path we have chosen. I pray for courage on this path. That we have the courage to continue to follow our hearts, that we have the courage to face fears and that we have the courage to be gentle with ourselves. And I pray for the wisdom to help people live good lives. I pray for support to choose life again and again and thus inspire others.
