Banksy

2022-01-03 22:26:19

Today we went to the Banksy exhibition in Brussels. An unauthorized exhibition. Banksy believes art should be free. Since I think he's right and I paid anyway, I don't give a shit. It has motivated me, inspired me and pushes me to be more creative and develop ideas every day. It encourages me to leave my mark. It's my world and it's my life.

Genius or Vandal? What's in a word. In any case, a genius. Being creative is not enough. Being great at something is not enough. Where do ideas come from? That's actually the question with geniuses. Where the hell do those ideas come from? Personally, I can only try to create ideal conditions, hoping that something will come through. Hoping that some magic will flow through my ego. It's opening a gate with something else. It's being bored for days on end, doing nothing for hours and hours, clearing your mind and then, only then, can something new emerge.

Children don't do anything else. Children draw, do crafts, make music, sing, and move without inhibitions. They don't think whether something is good or not, they don't think whether others will like it or not, they don't care, they are monsters. Children are all geniuses. And we screw them up, one by one, with points, with praise, with criticism, with comparing and with the projection of our own failures. How do you stop that? By becoming a child again. Practice this every day. To sign back without judging. Back to making music without judging. To sing back without judgement. To tinker again without judgement. To move back without judgment. To live again without judgement. By becoming a child again we allow our own children to be their own genius. This is a blog to myself by the way.

Banksy just does what he likes to do.

There's nothing more dangerous than someone who wants to make the world a better place.

Then I watched this documentary tonight.

Whahahahaa, I don't think Banksy is so happy with Mister Brainwash after all. Banksy is a genius, Mister Brainwash is just extremely creative. There's a giant difference. But today gave me a lot of ideas for my album project. Hype. Hype. Hype. Hype is so important and it is also important that what you hype is somewhat okay.

When my album is finished, I feel like having a thousand stickers made and sticking them everywhere in different cities. Rehearsal. Show people something so often that they become curious. I also feel like turning the Heilig-Hartplein here into a mega-large canvas so that you can see my artist name and album on Google Maps. And graffiti, we're going to try that too. A little stencil and leaving my print everywhere. Wonderful those street artists. How do you decide one day to become a street artist... Fortunately, there are still many rebels.

You can be a rebel anywhere and start it at any time. By staying true to yourself. With humor. With love. And eradicate fear little by little. Also by being independent. Ignore rules. Question everything. Becoming paranoid is the best cure for the world.

Rats.

“Rats exist without permission. They are hated, hunted and persecuted. They live in quiet desperation among the filth. And yet they are capable of bringing entire civilizations to their knees. If you are dirty, insignificant and unloved then rats are the ultimate role model.” Banksy

So. January 3, 2022. 3/1/22. Still living. Still painting my behavior all over the place.

Peace out.
